Oct, 2010 – East Side is proud to announce its newest fulltime firefighter. Daniel Brown, who has
been a volunteer and parttime firefighter for 8 years, was selected to become east side’s second
fulltime firefighter. FF Brown began work on Oct. 11th and is assigned to station 14.
October 23, 2008 – East Side participated in it’s first ever Fill-The-Boot fundraiser to help fight
muscular dystrophy. Firefighters were at the intersection of Highway 64 E. and E. Presnell St. from
10am-2pm. In all, firefighters raised $2653.00 thanks to the outpouring of the community.

October 11, 2010 – ESFD would like to welcome aboard three new part-time employees. Shane
Allred, Matt Robertson, and Eric Trogdon all begin work in the next couple of weeks.
October 9, 2010 - Several ESFD members attended a live burn hosted by Franklinville FD on
Highway 64 E. at an acquired, vacant structure. Crews had several evolutions of fire attack before
letting the structure go. AC 14 (Macon) was the lead live burn instructor. Photos

Safety Captain Kenneth Lynch received the 2010 Firefighter of the Year award.
